The University of Central Florida has just lost a reported $3 million dollar endorsement deal wit Adidas after M.J.’s freshman son Marcus Jordan wore a pair of his dads shoes during an exhibition game on Wednesday saying he will only wear hid dads shoes because they have special meaning to the family. UCF which was in the last year of a 5-year deal with Adidas has released a statement saying they were disappointed.
Should he have taken one for the team or did he do the right thing by keeping the Jordan flag waved high???

He should have taken one for the team. Better yet, the university should have ensured he took one for the team.
ReplyDeleteA deal is a deal. I don't care if you're Jordan's son or not. Put yourself in Adidas' shoes!! Would you pay $1.9 million and then allow attention to be drawn to Nike. Umm... no thanks. I understand why they're done with the University of Central Florida.
The university is primarily responsible for the loss of this deal. They made an agreement with Adidas and should have fulfilled it. If Jordan didn't want to wear the team's shoes, then he should not have been included on the game roster.
If the shoe brand was so important to Jordan's son, then perhaps he should have investigated this ahead of choosing a university basketball program.
Jordan did the wrong thing. The university did the wrong thing. And Adidas did the only thing they could do, though I see many are debating this. I'll have to give that more thought. Would love to hear what others think.
